What to Expect

We understand that crisis response work can seem intimidating, but we won’t leave you in silo.  We support you every step of the way and match you with the best organization.  Here’s what you can expect as a RapidStaff response worker.

What to expect for Induction:

We aim to provide the highest quality of professionalism and care to our clients. Our appearance and behavior can impact a facility’s impression of our ability to provide quality care. Please be aware of your appearance and actions always, so that we as a team are conveying and reflecting the highest level of professionalism.

Please note that due to the nature and complexities of job actions, all shifts and assignments are subject to change daily based on the needs of each facility. Please check your email and texts frequently for any updates from RapidStaff.

What to expect for Orientation:

Once you have accepted a position for a strike/job action you can expect the following steps:

  1. An offer email is sent which will include a travel survey.
  2. Once you have carefully read the email please respond with the travel survey completed.
  3. You will then receive a DocuSign contract that you must sign and return. It is very important that you complete this step.
  4. Travel is booked after your DocuSign contract is returned.
  5. Travel to the assignment.
  6. Next, make your way to the assigned hotel and check into your room. You will receive a packet of documentation and a time to arrive to the induction ballroom.
  7. Upon arrival to the induction area you will sit with one of RapidStaff members to review your file, verify your employment eligibility documents, compliance documents and answer any questions you may have.
  8. Based on the size of the strike/job action there may be a station for immunization needs. This is not always available so encourage you to make sure your file is complete.
  9. Next you will meet with our Payroll team to review your payroll documents and get any required signatures so we can get you paid.
  10. Meeting with hospital employee health is your last stop

What to expect during the strike?

For the first day of the strike, the day shift will arrive an hour prior to start of shift. This is for your safety and to ensure a smooth transition. Upon arrival to the facility, we gather in a holding area for deployment to areas of work.

What if the strike settles after arriving?

Should the strike “red light” and settle after you arrive to the induction site, you will be emailed information.

Transportation:

We may be utilizing multiple hotels during this job action. Please pay attention to all information provided to you regarding your hotel and bus loading times.

Please be sure to give yourself enough time to ensure you are on the bus and ready to go at the directed time you were given.

You MUST have your ID badge out and ready to load the bus as well as the schedule that you were given at the assignments station during induction. All replacement workers will be checking out of the housing and traveling home the day following the conclusion of the job action.

Meals and Rest breaks:

Please familiarize yourself with the meal and break periods included in the packet you were provided.

Getting paid and getting home:

Please make sure you sign the bottom of your time sheet, ONLY employee signed time sheets will be processed. At the end of every shift you are responsible for obtaining your supervisors signature.

A RapidStaff representative will collect your timesheets – please make sure they are printed and easy to read.
